SDCC Presentation Night

TOM ICETON CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR

The Club Person of the Year Award is determined by the Committee by secret ballot. It is open to all players, non-playing members, life members and volunteers and is the Club’s presentation for outstanding work other than the usual playing or administrative duties.

Sutherland defeated Sydney University in the 1st Grade Limited Overs final at Glenn McGrath Oval on 28.2.2010 :

This award is for the Player of the Year, based on performances in grade rounds 1 to 15.

BOB EVERY ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD

The Bob Every Encouragement Award is provided by Bob Every (Club Patron & 1st Grade player #22), with the recipient each year to receive $1,000 from Bob. Bob was formerly Chairman of Wesfarmers and Boral and a Director of Cricket Australia.  This is the 13th year that Bob has presented the award.

Previous winners who are current players are Ben Dwarshuis (12-13), Tom Pinson (13-14), Jamie Brown (14-15), Daniel Fallins (15-16), Tom Doyle (16-17), Jarryd Biviano (17-18) & James Arnold (18-19).

The award is decided by the Committee in conjunction with Bob. Factors to be taken into account include on-field performance, training attendance, involvement in off-field activities and any study or career development that the player may be undertaking.

This season’s winner is NICK AMOS.

In 5th Grade, Sutherland defeated Manly-Warringah at Manly Oval on 2.4.2000 :

20TH ANNIVERSARY OF 4TH GRADE & 5TH GRADE PREMIERSHIPS

4th Grade finished the season as minor premiers. Day 2 of the final on 2.4.2000 was completely washed out at Caringbah Oval and so we were Premiers:

TRADIES ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD   

This was the 13th season of the Tradies sponsorship of the Sutherland DCC Under 16 Program. As part of the sponsorship each year, we present the Tradies Encouragement Award.

The Club Coaching Panel has decided that the Coaches’ Award for Best Trainer goes to WILL STRAKER.

Welcome to our alternative style of Presentation Night! We have tried to make it as entertaining as we can in the circumstances. We will make arrangements to present the award winners with their trophies at a suitable time in the future.

We usually celebrate milestone anniversaries of premierships won by organising reunions of the players who played in those finals. Tonight, we will acknowledge the following premierships during the awards announcements:

  • 10-year anniversaries of the 2009-10 1st Grade Limited Overs & 4th Grade premierships
  • 20-year anniversaries of the 1999-00 4th Grade & 5th Grade Premierships
