Vale Shirley Cotton

It is with great regret that we advise of the passing of Shirley Cotton, wife of former life member Ted, last Monday after a 12-month battle with cancer. Shirley was an Olympian, having competed in the discus throw at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games (attached photo shows Shirley training for the Olympics). She was a great supporter of the Club, particularly in the early years at Caringbah Oval and in later life after Ted died when she moved into a unit adjoining GMO. We pass on our sincere condolences to her daughter Lisa.

Shirley’s funeral will be held this Saturday, 16 July, at 11am at Olsen’s Funerals, Sutherland.
