14 December 1969

Sutherland won the Rothmans Limited Overs Knockout final by defeating Manly-Warringah at Hurstville Oval.

Sutherland 135 off 30.1 overs (Alan Griffiths 33, Colin Dodd 22, Graeme Marston 21) d. Manly-Warringah 77 off 24.7 overs (Ted Cotton 4-17, Glen Bailey 4-24, Bob Bain 5 cts).

At one stage, Manly were 3/65 but lost their last seven wickets for 12 runs.

14 December 1985

Anthony Hale took 5-24 in the second innings in 4th Grade vs Hawkesbury at Benson’s Lane No.2, to finish with match figures of 11-32. We won outright after batting for 13.4 overs in the match: Sutherland 2/48 off 4.1 overs & 2/69 off 9.3 overs d. Hawkesbury 45 & 69.

Tom Pinson made his 1st Grade debut vs Campbelltown-Camden at Glenn McGrath Oval, taking 2-63.

Jonathan Clark scored 158no in 5th Grade vs Northern District at Tonkin Oval – the then record score for 5ths.

Steve Smith was named as the 45th Australian Test Captain.

Bryan Gorman took 3-64 & 7-46 in “B” Shires vs Auburn-Lidcombe at Mona Park – 10 wickets in a day.

Ken Hudson scored 151no in AW Green Shield vs Nepean at Howell Oval – the then record score for AWG. He had an unbroken opening partnership of 241 with Peter McMahon – the then highest partnership in all grades for the club.

John Dyson made his Test debut for Australia vs India in the 2nd Test at the WACA.

16 December 1989

Glenn McGrath made his 1st Grade debut vs Northern District at Waitara Oval, taking 5-36.

16 December 2018

Sutherland won the Kingsgrove Sports 1st Grade T20 final by defeating Sydney University at the SCG.

Sutherland 5/123 off 14.4 overs (Jamie Brown 35no) d. Sydney University 122 off 19.5 overs (Daniel Fallins 3-22, Tom Pinson 2-12, Tom Doyle 2-38).

18 December 1965

Rod Barton took 6-31 in the second innings in 4th Grade vs North Sydney at Sutherland Oval. Combined with his 4-30 in the first innings, it gave him 10 wickets in the match.
