16 March 1996

Stuart MacGill took 5-51 in the first innings in 1st Grade vs Parramatta at Caringbah Oval. He went on to take 6-44 in the second innings the following week to give him match figures of 11-95, as 1sts won outright to propel them into the top four in what would become our first 1st Grade premiership in a couple of weeks’ time.

16 March 2006

Stuart Clark made his Test debut in the 1st Test vs South Africa at Newlands, Cape Town. He took 5-55 & 4-34 and won the Player of the Match award.

Steve Smith scored 178no in the first innings of the 3rd Test vs India at Ranchi.

17 March 1979

Eugene Nix took 7-41 & 6-26 in 1st Grade vs Penrith at Howell Oval – match figures of 13-67 in one day, as 1sts won outright to make the semi-finals for the first time. When we played in the 1st Grade final in 1966-67, it was just 1st vs 2nd in the final – no semi-finals.

18 March 1995

Martin Carroll took 8-37 in 2nd Grade vs Petersham-Marrickville at Caringbah Oval.

19 March 1966

Paul Lennon took 9-19 in the 4th Grade final vs Central Cumberland at Sutherland Oval, as we won our first premiership in our first season. These were the best bowling figures in an innings for the club until Devlin Malone took 10-116 in 2015-16. The team was captained by Ross Longbottom.

21 March 2009

Jasem Rafique scored 172 in the 4th Grade qualifying final vs Northern District at Sutherland Oval – the highest score for the club at Sutherland Oval.

Joel Brockley and Ben Marciante put on 179 for the 7th wicket in the 2nd Grade qualifying final vs Northern District at Joe McAleer Oval – the highest partnership for the 7th wicket in all grades for the club. The team total of 7/585 is also the highest score for the club in all grades.

22 March 1969

Ted Cotton took 9-24 in a 1st Grade redraw match vs Gordon at Chatswood Oval – the best bowling figures in 1sts for the club.

Shane Watson became Australia’s 44th Test captain in the 4th Test vs India in Delhi.
