In P-G Shield, Sutherland 258 (Graeme Marston top score with 47, Kerry O’Keeffe 7-68) d. St.George 155 (Kerry O’Keeffe top score with 37, Les Ritchie 5-53) at Caringbah Oval.

1 January 1969

Paul McCann took 5-61 & top scored with 60no (batting #9) in 2nd Grade vs Gordon at Chatswood Oval.

Geoff Glover took 7-44 in 4th Grade vs Gordon at Killara Oval.

Andrew Hilditch took 5-19 in P-G Shield vs Northern District at Caringbah Oval.

In possibly the worst game of P-G cricket I have ever seen, Sutherland 125 off 52.5 overs (Kevin Tuite 41, Mark Gardner 32no) tied with Sydney University 9/125 off 60 overs (Mark Gardner 3-24 off 22 overs, 3 run outs) at Caringbah Oval. This helped signal the death knell of P-G cricket on New Year’s Day!

Ken Hudson scored 158no in AW Green Shield vs Petersham-Marrickville at Caringbah Oval – the then record score in AWG.

Steve Rixon played his last day of Test cricket as the 5th Test vs West Indies ended at the SCG.

2 January 1994

Jason Holley scored 150 in P-G Shield vs Bankstown at Caringbah Oval – the then record score in PGs.

2 January 2005

Tony Clark took 7-51 & 7-33 in 2nd Grade vs Sydney University at University Oval – 14 wickets in a day. It was the second day of a Sat/Sun match.
