Shane Watson & Jarryd Biviano put on 300 for the 2nd wicket in 1st Grade vs St.George at GMO, breaking the record partnership for the 2nd wicket in all grades for the club which had been 285 by Nic Maddinson & Matthew Hughston in the 1st Grade semi-final vs Eastern Suburbs at GMO in 2009-10. Shane scored 184 (off 151 balls – 16×4 & 11×6) and Jarryd scored 122 (off 161 ball – 13×4 & 4×6).

John Philip took 3-40 in the second innings vs Sydney in 2nd Grade at Caringbah Oval to finish with match figures of 11-50.
1 October 1988
1st Grade scored 493 vs Parramatta at Caringbah Oval – the highest score for the club in 1sts at the time. Steve Rixon & Greg Horner put on 261 for the 6th wicket – the record partnership for any wicket in all grades for the club at the time and still the record partnership for the 6th wicket in all grades. Steve scored 142 (16×4) and Greg made 153 (15×4 & 1×6).

Norm O’Neill scored 168 (27×4 & 1×6) on day 2 of the club’s first 1st Grade match vs St.George at Hurstville Oval – the club’s first century, which stood as the club’s record score for all grades until Phil Weatherall broke it with 173* in 3rd Grade in 1983-84. It remained the club record score for 1sts until 1999-00, when Matthew Bradley scored 212*.

Ted Rollinson took 8-64 in the second innings in “A” Shires vs Lindfield at Birchgrove Oval No.2, the club’s first 8-wicket haul. He had taken 3-42 in the first innings the previous week, giving him match figures of 11-106, the club’s first 10 wickets in a match.

Phil Jaques made his 1st Grade debut vs North Sydney at Caringbah Oval.

Aaron Phillips & Daniel Marandola put on 195 for the 10th wicket in 3rd Grade vs Western Suburbs at Sutherland Oval. It was the highest partnership for the 10th wicket in all grades for the club and the highest 10th wicket partnership in Sydney grade cricket history. Aaron scored 154 (off 149 balls – 17×4 & 5×6) and Daniel made his career highest score of 61* (off 107 balls – 4×4).

John Dyson scored 122 in the first innings of a first class match for NSW vs Tasmania at the TCA Ground, Hobart. It was his maiden first class century.

With 3 rounds remaining in the 2022/23 season, Sam Konstas has already scored over 1000 runs in his first season for SDCC.
Sam became the first player to score 1000 runs in all grades for the Club in his first season with the Club. The previous highest aggregates in their first season with the Club were Phil Jaques (593 in 2nds + 223 in PGs = 816) and Jason Young (812 in 1sts) – both in 1996-97. He has also equalled the club record for most centuries in a season with 4, joining Les Johns (1985-86), Justin Kenny (1990-91), Matthew Bradley (1996-97), Grant Davies (2005-06), Phil Jaques (2005-06) and Jamie Brown (2015-16 & 2017-18). This is the second consecutive season that Sam has achieved both feats, having scored 1139 runs with 4 centuries last season for St.George.

During his stint of 31 runs on Saturday, Second Grade skipper Josh Horner passed 3000 runs for SDCC.
Josh has played a pivotal role at the club, particularly in the last few seasons, not only in a playing capacity but also as our second grade captain.
