Grahame Barry took 7-31 in Poidevin-Gray Shield vs Bankstown at Caringbah Oval – the best bowling figures in PGs for the club.

4 January 1985

Ben Connell took 4-63 in AW Green Shield vs Petersham-Marrickville at Caringbah Oval. It was a 60 over match – Ben bowled 30 overs straight from one end!

Matthew Brennan took 9-32 in 4th Grade vs Mosman at Tonkin Oval.

4 January 2000

Glenn McGrath took 5-55 off 17 overs in the second innings of the 3rd Test vs India at the SCG, giving him match figures on 10-103. He won the Player of the Match award.

4 January 2013

Glenn McGrath was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.

5 January 1982

John Dyson took his famous outfield catch in front of the old SCG Hill to dismiss Sylvester Clarke off the bowling of Bruce Yardley in the 2nd Test vs West Indies.
