This Week In History - 9 Feb

3 February 1968

Geoff Glover took 8-6 & 7-34 in “B” Shires vs Ryde at Sutherland Oval – 15-40 in one day (day one washed out so one day match played on day two). These were the best match figures for the club until Devlin Malone took 16 wickets in 2015-16. The amazing thing about this achievement is that Ryde only had 10 men, so there were only 9 wickets available to be taken in each innings! Geoff’s first wicket in the first innings was caught and his last in the first innings was leg before wicket. The remaining 13 wickets were bowled.

The team score finished on 6/500 dec, also the club 1st Grade record team score.
