Rodney Davison scored 108 in 4th Grade vs Gordon at Sutherland Oval. He is the youngest player to score a grade century for the club, aged 14 years 157 days.

Steve Smith scored 162no in the first innings of the 1st Test vs India at Adelaide Oval.

10 December 2017

Shane Watson scored 114 not out in the 1st Grade T20 quarter-final vs Mosman at Allan Border Oval – the first T20 century for the club. This remarkable innings came off 53 balls & included one four & 16 sixes – the most sixes scored in an innings for the club. His century was reached off 50 balls, equalling David Murphy’s record for the fastest century for the club (see 24 Nov 2007). Shane & Jarryd Biviano put on 149 for the 1st wicket – the highest partnership for the club in T20 matches.

11 December 1965

Bruce Teague scored 114 in 3rd Grade vs North Sydney at North Sydney Oval No.2 – the first century for the club in 3rds.

11 December 1979

Steve Rixon scored 101no in the second innings of the Sheffield Shield match vs Western Australia at the WACA.

11 December 1984

John Dyson played his last day of Test cricket as the 3rd Test vs West Indies ended at Adelaide Oval.

12 December 2009

Steve Smith scored 102no in the first innings of the Sheffield Shield match vs Queensland at the Gabba – his maiden first class century.

1st Grade player #259 Lockie Ferguson made his Test debut for New Zealand vs Australia at Optus Stadium in Perth.

Peter Doherty took 8-33 in 5th Grade vs Manly-Warringah A at Weldon Oval.

Phil Jaques scored 208 in 2nd Grade vs Bankstown at Caringbah Oval – at the time, the club record score for all grades.

Steve Smith scored 111 in the first innings of the 3rd Test vs England at the WACA. He won the Player of the Match award.

Ben Dwarshuis took 4-13 for Sydney Sixers vs Melbourne Renegades in a BBL match at Bellerive Oval.

14 December 1969

Sutherland won the Rothmans Limited Overs Knockout final by defeating Manly-Warringah at Hurstville Oval.

Sutherland 135 off 30.1 overs (Alan Griffiths 33, Colin Dodd 22, Graeme Marston 21) d. Manly-Warringah 77 off 24.7 overs (Ted Cotton 4-17, Glen Bailey 4-24, Bob Bain 5 cts).

At one stage, Manly were 3/65 but lost their last seven wickets for 12 runs.

14 December 1985

Anthony Hale took 5-24 in the second innings in 4th Grade vs Hawkesbury at Benson’s Lane No.2, to finish with match figures of 11-32. We won outright after batting for 13.4 overs in the match: Sutherland 2/48 off 4.1 overs & 2/69 off 9.3 overs d. Hawkesbury 45 & 69.

Jonathan Clark scored 158no in 5th Grade vs Northern District at Tonkin Oval – the then record score for 5ths.

Steve Smith scored 130 in the first innings of the 1st Test vs Pakistan at the Gabba.

Bryan Gorman took 3-64 & 7-46 in “B” Shires vs Auburn-Lidcombe at Mona Park – 10 wickets in a day.

16 December 1974

Ken Hudson scored 151no in AW Green Shield vs Nepean at Howell Oval – the then record score for AWG. He had an unbroken opening partnership of 241 with Peter McMahon – the then highest partnership in all grades for the club.

Glenn McGrath made his 1st Grade debut vs Northern District at Waitara Oval, taking 5-36.

Steve Smith scored 239 in the first innings of the 3rd Test vs England at the WACA. He won the Player of the Match award.

16 December 2018

Sutherland won the Kingsgrove Sports 1st Grade T20 final by defeating Sydney University at the SCG. The team was captained by Steve Smith.

Sutherland 5/123 off 14.4 overs (Jamie Brown 35no) d. Sydney University 122 off 19.5 overs (Daniel Fallins 3-22, Tom Pinson 2-12, Tom Doyle 2-38).
